Bate’s Brewer

Bate’s Brewer is a very old hop variety that is no longer grown. Used to breed Whitbread Golding, it — much like it’s progeny — is not considered to be a true Golding variety. It was used extensively by Wye College in the early 1900’s to breed new varieties.
